Pure Minimalist Furniture Collection Takes Cues From Beach Landscape Of The Hamptons

Australian architect and designer Ameé Allsop has launched a collection of minimalist furniture made of bleached American ash and travertine. The collection, called Pure Minimalist, presents simple tables and chairs made of flat planes of American ash and an angular shelf made of travertine. "My love for home and the art of living has led me to design this collection," said Allsop. "There is architecture in everything". Allsop, born in Sydney, said the clean lines, pale colors and palette of natural materials in the collection were informed by the minimalist art movement of the late 1950s, as well as by the beach landscape surrounding her House in Hamptons, a group of villages on the east end of Long Island, New York. For Allsop, who has worked as an architect in Sydney and New York for the past 12 years, Pure Minimalist is her first furniture collection.
