Jerry J.I. Chen introduces western audiences to Chinese contemporary Furniture Design

Two years after its initial launch in China, the book "Contemporary Chinese Furniture Design" by designer Jerry J.I. Chen has been published in English translation for readers around the world. The publication shows with great detail the culture of modern Chinese furniture and aims to present to the Western public the innovations of design in China today. Chen has been working in the design field for three decades, during which time he has accumulated in-depth knowledge and experience, illustrated in his publication. The designer did not receive formal training, however, he was inspired by his many travels. Throughout his life, Chen has also been a passionate collector of ancient Chinese art. As a result, the book links classical and contemporary Chinese design, creating a new aesthetic for furniture in China.
